These boas originate from across Madagascar with the exception of the extreme southwest. There are 2 colour variations, ‘’mandarin’’ and green phase. The western 'mandarin’ Sanzinia exhibits a brown with yellow colouration while the eastern possess a green colouration with darker markings and white laterals.
